The Jim Terrian Award is a special recognition within the LMAS District Health Department, honoring staff members who exemplify dedication to public health and exceptional customer service. Named in honor of Dr. Jim Terrian, our current Deputy Medical Director, this award celebrates his 53 years of commitment to creating healthier communities. Dr. Terrian’s unwavering kindness, professionalism, and passion for public health continue to inspire LMAS staff every day.

She was engaging and listened to my questions and concerns and thoroughly explained everything. Overall these two ladies were very helpful from the moment I walked in the door to when I left.

Chelsea Schummer is an outstanding teacher and an invaluable asset to our school community. She consistently goes above and beyond and is always willing to lend a hand with anything that's needed. Her positive attitude and dedication make her a role model not only for students but also for fellow staff members. The impact she has made this year has been truly remarkable — I cannot overstate how much we’ve all learned from her.

Danielle Kienitz was a pleasure to work with. She assisted me filling out an application for a residential water supply permit. She represents LMAS very well.

Danielle Kienitz helped me through the process of submitting an application for a new well. This being my first time applying she helped me get the application filled in. Without her fine help and patience with me I would have spent many more hours trying to figure it out. She made me feel important to her. Her 'wanting to help me' attitude made this an enjoyable experience. I look forward to working with her again in the future.

Mrs. Edwards and Mrs. Schummer were the primary presenters of Botvin Life Skills in my middle school classroom. They did an excellent job presenting their information and engaging my students. I believe the students gained perspective on the topics that they covered.

Babs is amazing at her job and always makes sure to get me whatever answer or help I need.

Jamie Rushford has been amazing coming into my class for the past several years to teach Health Education. She does amazing working with the kids, and they always enjoy her visits and lessons. She does a great job getting to know the students during the times she sees them and works hard to make sure they are engaged in the lesson and understanding the importance of the content. She has been a huge asset to their educational experiences. Jamie has also been incredibly flexible, especially with how many sick days and snow days we have had this year. She has worked hard to make sure she can come in to get all of the material covered that she needs to despite schedule changes and school closures.

I enjoyed talking with Lori Autterson. She immediately took ownership of my inquiry. She found some older paperwork pertaining to my property. When the information did not include information that I requested, she looked deeper into the issue and followed up after our conversation. She then sent me an email explaining what she had found.

I totally appreciate her quick and thorough response. It was a refreshing experience.

Rachel was wonderful! She connected to the kids and they looked forward to her coming every time! She taught the information well and related it to their lives. The class and I loved having her in the room.

Rachel Ryan was great to work with. She did a great job of communicating and working with my schedule.

Ms. Ryan taught my 4th grade BOTVIN class. She was so awesome in many ways. She diligently worked around snow days, Christmas presentatios and the like. She was always patient and kind when we had to reschedule again and again. She was a wonderful colleague-always on time. The kids adored her!

I had all respect for Evanne. I knew right from the start that she knew her job.

Evanne was always prompt in addressing our needs. She explained processes well. She was easy to get in touch with and always pleasant. Randy was also helpful. He explained renewal processes to me which helped me to stay on target. He was also prompt in visiting our site. The receptionists are also awesome. They are always friendly and helpful!!

I work for a Housing Authority, so I have to contact LMAS regularly for inquiries, paperwork, and other requests. Faith Gaubault has ALWAYS been nothing but helpful, respectful, and professional with me. She gets me everything I need in a timely manner, and she is great to work with.

She provided lessons with Botvin's Life Skills to our 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. She was wonderful with the kids and made meaningful relationships. Jamie had great communication skills and brought positive energy into the classroom.

I spoke to Faith and she was very helpful answering my questions regarding septic permitting in Mackinac County.

Lisa Garrett was incredible. She got me all set up with the pump when the first one stopped working, she got me another one to use so I didn’t have any problem with my pump schedule. She was always available when I had questions.

Jennifer Hubble kept the Septic Installer Meeting moving and provided lots of knowledge. She is very professional.
