Women, Infants, Children (WIC)

Nutrition counseling, assessment of growth and development, and supplemental food benefits are provided to families with pregnant and postpartum women, infants and children up to age five.  Registered nurses and a registered dietician provide teaching and counseling to families.

Families must meet income guidelines (at or below 185% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines) or be enrolled in Medicaid or food assistance programs. Additionally, participants must have a nutrition or health risk, which is assessed by our WIC staff during enrollment.

Benefits of WIC

One of the key advantages of WIC is the ongoing support provided to families. Participants receive:

  • Nutritional education to encourage healthy eating habits
  • WIC Client Connect, an online tool to manage benefits, check appointments, and locate approved grocery stores
  • Access to WIC Health, where families can find educational resources to support their nutrition and wellness goals

For mothers who choose to breastfeed, LMAS WIC provides access to a range of breastfeeding support resources, including:

  • La Leche League
  • Every Ounce Counts
  • Kelly Mom

Breastfeeding offers lifelong health benefits for both mothers and babies. Our team is here to support and encourage families every step of the way.
