Tobacco and Nicotine Education

Tobacco and nicotine addiction continue to be major public health challenges across Michigan. Whether you’re trying to quit smoking, reduce vaping, or help someone else begin their journey toward better health, having access to the right tools and information can make all the difference.

The LMAS District Health Department supports individuals, families, and communities in finding effective, science-based resources for prevention and cessation.

Quit Smoking

This free program offers personalized quit plans, live coaching by phone or online, and text-message support. Whether you’re just thinking about quitting or ready to take action, Michigan QuitLink provides expert help every step of the way.

Youth

  • My Life My Quit is a free and confidential online and text‑driven cessation program specifically designed for youth under 18 in Michigan, helping them quit vaping and other nicotine products through teen‑focused messaging.

Additional Resources

  • MDHHS “How to Quit Tobacco” program offers free, evidence-based support to all Michiganders—whether you’re an adult, teen, or pregnant individual. Through coaching, medication coverage, and educational outreach, quitting tobacco becomes a supported and accessible journey.
